Impact XPU 2.1 Skateboard Deck

The Impact XPU 2.1 is a skateboard deck built to outlast the deck it replaces. Instead of seven plies of maple with exposed edges, XPU wraps a vertically laminated wood core in carbon fiber and glass fiber and finishes the edges in impact-proof polyurethane – so the tail doesn't razor and the edges don't chip the way a normal deck does. This is a classic popsicle shape with a defined nose and tail.
Impact Skateboards Co. builds XPU in limited batches in Poland and refines each version with feedback from the skaters riding it. 2.1 is the current version. Club Distribution is Impact's US distributor.

Picking a width: 7.75"–8.0" for technical street skating and smaller feet; 8.25"–8.38" is the all-round sweet spot most people ride; 8.5" and up for transition, bigger feet or a more stable feel. Match your trucks to the width – see our skateboard trucks.
Who it's for
Skaters who go through decks fast – heavy street skating, ledges, rails, anyone tired of a fresh board going razor in two weeks. On a tighter budget? The Impact Lite Standard uses the same idea in a lower-cost build.
FAQ
What is XPU construction?
Impact's own build: a vertically laminated wood core wrapped in carbon fiber and glass fiber, with impact-proof polyurethane sidewalls around the edge and a FlowSlick layer on the base.
Does it get a razor tail?
That's the point of the polyurethane sidewalls. The tail and edges are PU rather than exposed maple plies, so they resist the chipping and thinning you get on a standard 7-ply.
Do I need to wax it?
The FlowSlick layer is built to slide on ledges and rails without wax.
How is it different from Powell Flight, Santa Cruz VX or Real DBX?
Those decks add fiberglass or composite layers to a maple deck. XPU starts from a vertically laminated core and adds polyurethane sidewalls, so the edges themselves are a different material, not just the plies inside.
At $120 the XPU 2.1 qualifies for free shipping on its own (orders over $100). See the full Impact Skateboards collection.
